Miguel Thomé, aka MIG, is a director and painter from Curitiba, Brazil. He works with visual humour. The kind that’s quirky, kitsch, and just a little odd. The good kind of odd. The kind that makes you slightly uncomfortable, yet you can’t look away. MIG’s films live in that magnetic space between absurdity and allure, where every frame feels a bit like a joke told by a dream. Whether it’s an oiled-up celebrity in a campaign for Betano, or his latest music video for Terno Rei, in which he builds an ethereal, Brazilian-Lynchean world of pastel fog and surreal melancholy. MIG is that guy who draws your attention and doesn’t let it go. His work has been featured on Nowness, Director’s Library, booooooom TV, Vogue, and i-D Italy, and screened at festivals in Berlin, Milan, Hong Kong, and New York. A full-time visual artist and former musician, he carries an innate sense of rhythm that translates into every cut and composition. MIG has directed campaigns for HBO Max, Fanta, McDonald’s, Tinder, and Call of Duty, earning recognition and awards for his distinctive ability to turn the everyday into something cinematic and just the right amount of weird.
