The word prodigy gets thrown around, but might rightfully apply to Pedro Martin-Calero. He saw a truly meteoric rise when he stepped into the world of advertising - when his directorial debut, the Honda spot “Up” won him both awards and not a little bit of a spotlight in 2017.
And yet, his unique talent should not be attributed to luck. He worked purposefully to arrive there. Spending years studying and working as a cinematographer to learn the language and grammar of film - before finally sitting himself in the directors chair.
He is driven and brings a great deal of creative ambition to everything that he does. “Don’t make something you wouldn’t love to watch”. This can be seen in the truly impressive body of work he already has to his name. Ads for some of the worlds leading brands; such as Honda, Adidas, Just eat, BT. Not to mention his prominence in the world of music videos with work for Hinds & The Weeknd.
And they always feel original, bold and inspired in the creative execution. Great things still to come here. We are sure of it.
